At the 2022 Biennale of Outstanding Works of Chinese Peasant Painting held at the Modern Art Museum of Jiangsu Province, 150 pieces of peasant paintings from all over China were exhibited, of which 6 pieces were exhibited from Ningbo.

　　This is another significant achievement of Ningbo's peasant painting creation this year, following the exhibition of 39 pieces of Ningbo peasant painting works in Zhejiang Modern Peasant Painting Exhibition.

　　The six creators of peasant paintings came from Cixi, Xiangshan and Beilun respectively, and their works have won awards in various competitions at national and provincial levels in recent years.

　　Chinese peasant paintings are rooted in traditional folk painting, and with their bright colours, full images, sincere emotions and exaggerated shapes, they show the rich and colourful rural life and memories of the countryside. Peasant painting has flourished in recent years and has become a major feature of Ningbo's folk art.

　　Ningbo peasant paintings are based on scenes of rural harvests, production and life, folk customs and stories of people, blending the essence of traditional folk art with modern decorative ideas to showcase Ningbo's traditional culture. At the same time, with its fresh style and ancient appearance, it is unique among modern folk paintings in China.
