There were 1209 foreign funded enterprises that had been approved in 2003 with a contractual foreign capital of 3440 million US dollars. The actual utilization of foreign capital achieved 1730 million US dollars. By the end of 2003, a total of 8072 foreign funded enterprises had been approved accumulatively, with total investment up to 29.1 billion US dollars, of which the contractual foreign capital took up 17 billion US dollars and the actual utilization of foreign capital reached 7.858 billion US dollars.
