Ningbo has great potentialities for further development. According to the target of ò building a well-off society in an all-round wayó determined at the 16th National Congress of CPC and requirements of firmly insisting 11th 5-year-plan, the city of Ningbo is carrying out the strategy of òsix combinationsó in an all-round way, that is, combination of city and rural, combination of industries, combination of port, bridge and sea, combination of production, living and ecology, and combination of economic and social development. It?s speeding up to build a modern international port city, and trying to make a respectable headway in reform & opening-up and modernization. Major targets for 2006 are: increase of GDP, 13.8%; increase of revenue income, 26.7%; increase of governable capital per capita of urban residents, 11.4%; and increase of pure income per capita of rural residents, 8.5%. By 2010, GDP of the city will exceed 430 billion Yuan RMB with an increase of 11% annually while the per capita GDP will reach 60000 RMB. Ningbo is on way to build the important manufacturing base in East China, and to become an important component of the international shipping center and the economic center of the South of the Yangtze Delta.
