face of minus factors like appreciation of the RMB and price rising of raw materials, open
economy of Ningbo made progress in both volume and quality in the first quarter.
According to statistics, import and export volume of Ningbo reached 15.048
billion US dollars, 31.4% higher than the same period last year. Export value is
9.903 billion US dollars, up by 30.6% while import value is 5.145 billion US
dollars, up by 33%. The increase rate of import and export volume, import value
and export value are all higher than averages of Zhejiang and the country. Average investment
scope of newly approved foreign funded projects surpassed 20 million US dollars
for the first time, 3 times higher than in 2007.
